Profile
Edha Nahdi, CEO, Amsons Group
Edha Nahdi is the Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Amsons Group, a diversified conglomerate with operations across multiple sectors, including energy, cement, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), concrete, flour milling, and more. He has led the Group since 2006, marking nearly two decades of visionary leadership and strategic growth.
Amsons Group, founded in 2006, has evolved into one of the largest private enterprises in East Africa. Under Nahdi’s stewardship, the company has recently made a landmark acquisition of Bamburi Cement, further solidifying the Group’s presence in the region’s industrial landscape.
Widely regarded as the driving force behind Amsons success, Nahdi began his entrepreneurial journey at the age of 19, initially venturing into the importation of bulk oil and petroleum products under the Camel Oil Tanzania retail brand. The business quickly diversified into cement production, real estate, inland container depots, and bulk grain storage, demonstrating his business acumen and appetite for growth.
Despite his considerable wealth, he is widely believed to have been a dollar billionaire since as early as 2006, Nahdi maintains a remarkably low public profile. In a country known for high-profile billionaires and media attention, he has built his reputation through quiet diligence and consistent results.
While little is publicly known about his educational background or personal life, Nahdi is recognised for his philanthropic work, particularly in the areas of education and healthcare, where he continues to support various community initiatives.
His achievements have not gone unnoticed. In 2015, he was honoured with the African Young Business Leader of the Year award.
