Angeline Lubala Mabula, a former Minister of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development and Member of Parliament for Ilemela, was appointed Regional Commissioner for Tabora on 28 October 2026, replacing Beno Morris Malisa. The appointment adds to her extensive public service career spanning local government, parliamentary leadership, Cabinet and party politics.

Mabula served as Minister of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development from January 2022 to August 2023, having previously served as Deputy Minister following the 2015 general election under President John Magufuli and later under President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

She represented the Ilemela constituency in Parliament for the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party from 2015 until the 2025 general election. She was re-elected in 2020 but lost the party’s internal primaries ahead of the 2025 polls, and consequently did not retain her parliamentary seat.

Between 2003 and 2009, she served as an accountant and coordinator of the Gender and Development Unit at Caritas Mwanza.

Born on 6 May 1962 in Mwanza, Mabula attended Kirumba Primary School and Lake Secondary School, completing her secondary education in 1981. She qualified as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) through the National Board of Accountants and Auditors in 2000. She later earned a Diploma in Development Leadership from Canada’s Coady International Institute at St Francis Xavier University in 2007, and a Master’s Degree in Community and Economic Development from the Open University of Tanzania in 2013–2014.
