Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) has dismissed allegations that President Samia Suluhu Hassan refused to step out of the party’s National Congress to allow delegates to deliberate on her presidential nomination. The ruling party stated that the claims, which were widely circulated online, were spread by individuals with ill intent towards the party and were part of a deliberate campaign to mislead the public and create confusion within CCM. Party officials emphasised that the agenda in question was not confidential and was meant to be discussed openly. They clarified that President Suluhu did step aside, as required, when it was time to deliberate on the presidential nomination.
