Following her victory, President Samia Suluhu faces the challenging task of dispelling doubts about her legitimacy. The first step toward consolidating her position came as world leaders congratulated her on the win. Among them were President William Ruto, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar, President Yoweri Museveni, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, and President Félix Tshisekedi. However, this recognition has not quelled the growing unrest among youth, the tensions within the ranks of Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM), or concerns about the fragile economy. The shilling has shown signs of weakness despite central bank intervention, and investor confidence remains uncertain. Restoring stability and creating jobs for a young population will be crucial to strengthening her leadership.
