ACT-Wazalendo councillor candidate Sebastian Ezekiel has promised to address the critical water shortages and youth unemployment challenges in Kawekamo Ward. This commitment comes ahead of Tanzania’s general election on October 29. Speaking at a campaign rally in Mwanza Region, Ezekiel specifically highlighted the severe water crisis affecting the mountainous areas of the ward. He pledged to work with Ilemela Municipal Council to prioritise this issue if elected. Beyond water access, the candidate committed to ensuring women and youth can access the council’s 10 per cent loan allocation. This will provide capital for young entrepreneurs to start businesses and achieve self-reliance. Additionally, he promised infrastructure improvements, including proper drainage systems and road construction. The race is competitive, with 69 candidates from various political parties vying for councillor positions across the Ilemela Constituency.
